Helixteus 3 Alpha v0.28 (30 Sep 2023)
- Research labs production is now affected by a lot of things. Build it next to a crater, lake, on ash, or under auroras to boost its SP production.
- You can now construct unique buildings! To do that, you'll need to have a high enough level of engineering in the dimensions menu. Unlike normal buildings, their costs will increase as you place more of them in a universe (to not make them too OP). They cost money, energy and SP to build, are constructed instantly, and cannot be upgraded.
- Greatly increased the chances of finding tier 2+ unique buildings, and lowered their repair costs significantly
- 2 new dimension power upgrades. Level 6: triangulum probes no longer have a fixed cost, and now depend on a number of factors and reward more or less probe points. Level 7: changes CBD's 2nd upgrade path to "time speed" (from "overclock bonus").
- New tile UI: 1) When constructing a building, tiles display a number if it buffs said building. 2) When constructing a building, tiles where buildings can't be built will be grayed out. 3) When picking a tile to mine, non minable tiles will be grayed out.
- Rover MK2 can now skip the first 7 floors of a cave. MK3 can now skip the first 15. However the rover will stop going down once the enemies become too powerful (when it can destroy it in a few hits)
- Combined protons, neutrons and electrons into one single resource: subatomic particles. No cap and decay for now, but may change when I come up with an interesting particle mechanic. They also cannot be collected for now, they can only be produced from atoms
- Changed the game font, and is now vectorized
- Removed aurora intensity exponent mineral upgrade
- Improved dimension menu UI, and fixed some display bugs
- Auroras can be now be buffed in different ways by modifying physics
- The game no longer spoils the color of class Q, R and Z stars in the physics dimension menu (and in achievements panel, unearned achievements are now 100% grayscale) until you discover them
- Buildings on planets, stars in galaxy view and galaxies in cluster view now progressively load to reduce the lag spike upon entering a planet/galaxy/cluster
- New building/megastructure construction panel UI
- Building keyboard shortcuts are now always shown so players don't forget them, and are made less intrusive to (hopefully) not want to hide them
- Made tooltips more colorful
- Central business system bonus data for each star/planet are now stored indvidually: if there are 2 CBSes in a system and you destroy one, all stars/planets in the range of the other CBS retain their bonuses
- Ash tiles boost cave difficulty a lot more
- The game trying to guess whether you want to buy or sell a resource is now a setting (off by default)
- Add buttons in load panel and mods panel to open HX3 files in the OS's file manager
- Fixed bug where constructing a gigastructure without entering the galaxy deletes incorrect systems and planets
- Fixed fighter disband button not working if galaxy/cluster isn't fully conquered
